Meem leaned into a type of historic house that twentieth-century planners celebrated as ideal, with its long portal flanked by a symmetrical room block on each end. An early example of that house, known as the Roque Lobato house, just across Bishops Lodge Road from the Scottish Rite Temple, was visible to all from its perch on a hill above Santa Fe.
